How do I transfer a restaurant bill to a guest's hotel room folio?
SajhiloStay HMS guide · Updated
In SajhiloStay HMS the waiter settles the table by charging it to the room. The order — already sent to the kitchen as a KOT — moves onto that guest's room bill, appears on their checkout invoice at the front desk, and is paid once with the room. No paper chit, no re-typing, and no dinner forgotten at checkout.
In most hotels this is where money goes missing: a guest eats dinner, signs a chit "Room 204", and the chit never reaches the front desk before checkout. SajhiloStay takes the paper out of that journey.
Table to kitchen to room, step by step
- Order. The waiter opens the table on the POS and adds the dishes, with any options ("no onion", "extra spicy").
- Kitchen. A numbered KOT reaches the kitchen screen — and, if you use stations, the drinks go to the bar on their own ticket and print on the bar's printer.
- Settle to room. When the guest is done, the waiter charges the order to the guest's room instead of taking payment.
- Checkout. The meal is already on the room bill at the front desk, itemised, and is paid once together with the stay.
Room service works the same way
A guest ringing for tea and a sandwich is entered against the room. The tea goes to the bar, the sandwich to the kitchen, on the same numbered tickets a table order gets, and both land on the room bill.
Details that matter at checkout
- VAT and service charge are applied to the restaurant order once — never again on the room bill.
- In a group, one room's balance can be carried to another room and settled together. See group booking billing.
- If a total looks too high, every line shows where it came from — see checking a guest bill.
- Each dish sold still deducts its ingredients from stock, exactly as if it had been paid at the table.
