A guest says their bill is too high — how do I check it?
The bill breaks into room rent per night, restaurant, guest requests, packages and discount. Work down the lines rather than guessing — one of them explains it.
- Room rent — each night with its own rate. A festival price or a mid-stay room move shows up here.
- Restaurant — every order charged to the room.
- Guest requests — laundry, minibar, extra bed.
- Packages — anything bundled. This replaces the room rate rather than adding to it.
- Discount — with the reason and who approved it.
The commonest surprise
An extra night. A guest who leaves after the hotel's checkout time is charged for that night, which is the rule the checkout-deadline setting controls. If your hotel does not want that, the deadline is a setting, not a fixed rule.
